Iām not a medical professional but I am 31 year old marine veteran that had many joint issues years back; had the body of a 60 year-old and this is what worked for me but might or might not work for others. Iāve been told I look 18 years old with perfect skin.
I sleep as much as possible every day.
I ate one meal a day and made sure the meal at least had at least enough lean protein and a full days worth of vegetables. A strong multivitamin with that.
Drank as much water as possible.
Did 1 set of major compound lifts struggling at the 8tb rep (squats, deadlifts, bench, pull ups push ups) at least a few times a week.
Tried to do something that worked zone 2-zone 5 cardio for at least a few hours a week. If anything try to just walk as much as you can every day.
Stretch and work on mobility as much as you can throughout the week if you are stationary.
All my joint pain is gone. A lot of my inflammatory symptoms vanished from my body. I feel incredible, can jump and run now. People think Iām reverse aging. Good luck and try to do the simple things like sticking to water and walking at least. Will do wonders.

As a soon to be family physician, I love when people show up with this level of honesty. I see patients who come in and say, "I don't wanna be here, I only came because ____. I don't want to be on any medications unless I really feel like I have to, etc."
I love it. They're great patients and I'm happy to help them meet their goals. It's not about me in the room, it's about you.

A few years ago I went to my current doctor struggling with mental health, he told me that before he put me on any medication he wanted me to read the bible daily, change my diet to remove sugar, and told me i needed to go to the gym 3-5 days a week. I listened, and it changed everything. The one time I ever got solid doctor advice.
EDIT: Saying this because other doctors have just put me on medication instantly with no other recommendations. Obviously I know healthy eating and exercise is important š

Had high cholesterol. I was overweight. Doc wanted to put me on stations. I decided to lose weight and see how that worked instead. Did intermittent fasting and a calorie deficit with regular exercise and lost 70 pounds. Ate whole foods from all food groups, including eggs. Cholesterol went down 100 points.

My husband is a family NP and heās trying his best to not put everyone on pills and talk to them about just living a healthy lifestyle. From a healthcare perspective itās incredibly hard to get the general population to STOP wanting a pill for every little thing. Most people want an easy fix and to be lazy.

Hadnāt seen a doctor since I was 27, when I turned 37 I went to go get blood work done just to see how my health was. Doc said everything looked great and actually applauded me because I told him how I wasnāt on any medication and how long it had been since my last visit. I exercise regularly and rarely rarely eat fast food. People donāt understand how much you benefit from simple exercise and fairly healthy diet is.

So blessed to have a family physician that doesn't push meds or vaccines unless absolutely necessary. When I was depressed he told me go to the gym, change diet. When I was stressed he told me to get 'rid of the stress' or go to therapy. Unless he felt the flu shot was necessary a particular year he wouldn't recommend it. Thank you Dr. D'Urzo š

Drink plenty of water, cut out sugar, cut out alcohol and smoking, avoid excess carbs, exercise, and get a good amount of sleep.
Probably the most basic thing the average person can do to live a healthier life.
