Yeah my fiancée and I will not be hiring a wedding planner. We don't feel the need to pay someone to try and change how she wants it.

This is why I’m having a dinner party , no ceremony or reception just a singular dinner party where we make some speeches , say some vows, eat a good meal and relax together

I love how extra long that Karen side fringe is to the point it's able to curl under and over to the other side of your chin! 🤣 Extra Karen points

I got married several years ago, so I can't comment on the state of the industry now, but our wedding planner was absolutely a lifesaver. A hurricane came through the week before our ceremony, and our venue was without power up until the day before our wedding. The storm also stopped our flowers from coming in. Our wedding planner scrambled and had a backup venue and transportation for our friends and family to that backup venue ready in case we needed it. She also found new flowers for us that could make it to us in just a few days. I can't even imagine how much more stressful it would have been to have to try to find a wedding venue in a week when the whole city was without power. She definitely saved the day.

And here's a pro tip: The planner takes a percentage of whatever the vendors they book for you charge. So book the expensive ones yourself before you hire the planner. We already had a photographer and a DJ picked out, so she didn't get those commissions. It saved us a decent amount of money.

My husband and I knew each other for 11 months, when we were married. I wanted the wedding to cost as little as possible.
Venue- free (our church)
Planner- none
Meal- potluck
Officiant- free (my dad)
Decor- maybe $200 in bowls and candles
Dress- maybe $200 for a prom dress in ivory
We’ve been married for 24 years now and couldn’t be happier. We probably had a 100 guests at our wedding. I wouldn’t change a single thing, if I could do that day over again.

Our wedding was Halloween weekend, so our favors were paper bags of popcorn and candy mix in it and I used a thank you stamp and stickers on them. Everyone likes food as a favor and diy was cheaper 😊

At least someone is voicing my serious doubts about the ridiculous, bombastic, over the top weddings nowadays ... 😅

I've always thought about a breakfast buffet for a wedding.
Since everyone loves breakfast. It's great for picky eaters, vegetarians, vegans, and allergies.

If you have anyone with those eating restrictions you can edit the menu to make it safe.

I work at a hotel Venue … brides pay 20k (I’ve seen up to 50k)for the wedding planner alone. No idea why- we do most of the planning on our end already. Just seems wasteful to me but to each their own 🤷‍♀

My girlfriend and I want to do our wedding on halloween.

Its our favorite holiday [and our current anniversary is already in october]

The wedding is gonna be a costume party, so people can dress in whatever silly thing they want. Our decor is gonna be cheesey and extra halloweeny [gonna save boatloads of money too. And we can repurpose some of the decor for our future place bc we love that kindve stuff year round]

Me and my husband took the cheapest route lol. We got married at the courthouse with our parents and grandparents in attendance. And hosted our own “reception/wedding party” the next day at our house. It was exactly what we wanted. Very personal and intimate in my opinion. We went camping in our favorite place for our honeymoon lol. I know what we did isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for us it was perfect and such a a blast. I wouldn’t change my wedding for anything looking back

You should do a potluck and rent a farm or other cheap venue for a "family reunion". My friend did this it was awesome. Very cost effective and the food was fantastic.
