Why aren’t we allowed, in Louisiana, to have more than one therapist at a time? I would like to do IFS but also I need other therapy at the same time.

Talk therapy can actually perpetruate or help play a role in schizotypy or psychotic like experiences in people already dealing with other mental health issues like anhedonia. If a therapist is sitting there and telling the person what they're feeling isn't genuine or up to their standards it can all play a role, along with other social, environmental, drug and alcohol issues in permanent life altering, life destroying disorders. This industry needs to come to grips with that

So, I've been wasting my time trying therapy over and over again since the age of 15, now 38, because it probably just won't work for me? It clearly isnt that I don't really want to get better or I wouldve stopped trying years ago. Feeling a bit defeated now. 😢

It probably only works for 40% of us because only 40% of us actually want to change and know that we need to. Many refuse to take accountability, everyone else is the problem not them. Just a thought...

I tried emdr recently, and parts work. It grounds me during the session and the rest of the day usually. It does bring you to a new level, on top of talk therapy.
