The reason people don't generally use a mod fast for bottom contact techniques is you lose sensitivity with them. A extra fast has more sensitivity when using the same blank lol. I have a 200 mod rod that's not a sensitive as a 80$ extra fast rod π. Yes that 200$ rod is a better blank too. I asked a rod builder what's best and he gave me the full run down on what best for each techniques. You can use anything you want but some just out preform others with certain techniques
