If it was a cat he’d most likely get an infection and really would need help to heal. Squirrels respond very badly to the bacteria in cat saliva. Or he’s a very strong baby! Coulda been a hawk too? I’m a rehabber and I’ve seen many of them fight over territory. If you have any questions you can ask on my channel, I have squirrels too💚

I have some squirrels that have bare spots on their body think it's either lice or something else but it will come back

Poor baby! I think it may be an injury, although it’s rather larger. We had a Squirrel last year show up with what appeared to be bite marks on his head. The wound gradually healed until the fur grew over it. Hope little guy gets better soon!

I had a squirrel with a split head injury caused by an icicle. I was feeding him little peanutbutter sandwiches, thinking good energy but less effort to chew. It seemed to be painful to chew nuts.
I wonder if this one was hit/thrown by a car? Could explain the paw/hand injury and the scrape on the head. 🥺

Feeding him well and making food and water easy for him is the best thing to do to help his recovery. Any time one of my "fellas" would arrive with an injury I always made sure that they got more food than anyone else and didn't have to contend with any of the other squirrels.
