What's amazing is how concrete this "can't" is, because of the actual size of the galaxy. It's not like the old can'ts - "you can't break the sound barrier" or "you can't expect a thing that heavy to actually stay in the air" - because the 'can't' with light speed is the faster you go, the more kinetic energy you have, and then the more fuel you need. Equations have shown that an object close to the speed of light has infinite kinetic energy, and to get that requires infinite energy. And the distance is so great that unless you go hundreds of times faster than the speed of light, you'll never get very far at all.
So Brian is saying here that the math makes it completely impossible to do the things we all imagine Kirk and Company can do. Or Picard. Or the Skywalker family. Or Janeway. Or that Family Guy nerd. Or ancient aliens, et cetera.
It's not a physical limit. It's a problem with the infinite fuel required to break light speed.
Until that race of bugs visits and shows us how to warp spacetime πΈ

So basically, itβs impossible for alien life to get here. Which begs the question what are all these UFOs flying around that we see. Is it possible that these are beings that have always been here on earth? Or perhaps like Tucker Carlson says, fallen angels?that actually makes more sense now realizing itβs virtually impossible for any alien life form to get to earth
