This car was purchased new from the dealer with just six miles on it. It appears it took less than six miles to wreck it. Accidents happen but the work that was done cost this customer a lot more in the long run. #shorts

My dad always said the hardest 5 miles a car gets is from the factory to the dealership.

Yep bought a 1987 S-10 Blazer "brand new" from a dealership. Got T-boned on the passenger side 8 months later. When it was being repaired I decided to change the color and we discovered during the prep that the driver side rear quarter and B pilar had been pulled and body worked. I don't know what made me more angry the fact it was wrecked and sold as new or that the repair wasn't even done correctly. Good news for me the dealership was forced to buy it back at the full price plus 10%. They were out of business 2 years later.

I was a tech at a dealership and a salesman test driving with customers smashed right into my parked car. My car got hit so hard the trunk was into the rear tires. Salesman and porters constantly damage new cars and they quietly fix them.

There is a body shop a few miles from me that I have used. It's located in an area where there are several dealerships within a few blocks. The first time I visited the shop I was surprised that the shop was filled with brand new vehicles. The shop manager told me that the vast majority of his business was repairing brand new vehicles that were damaged in transit or at a dealership.

When I was putting windshields in when I lived in Alabama, I remember going down to the Ford dealership and putting the windshield and back glass in a brand new Ford pickup. They had just put a new roof on because the guy on the delivery truck lowered the ramp onto it and smashed it. Wouldn't you know, couple days later after they had finished it she was right out there on the front line with all the other new ones.......

I know a guy that bought a brand new Dodge truck many years ago. The first time he got into the back of the truck box so that he could wash the roof he discovered that the roof was all bondo. Come to find out the truck had been damaged on the car carrier, the auto dealer "fixed" the damage and never said a word about it.

I worked at a Subaru dealership while I was in college. One day, a customer came in to test drive a car. While the salesperson was backing out of the spot it was in, the front bumper contacted the side of another car adding a nice crease down the entire side of that car. Two brand new cars with one shot. Both cars were sent to a body shop and were sold to unsuspecting customers.

I worked at a dealer as teenager and witnessed one of the salesman hit a pole with a brand new fusion, the pole fell on the car crushing the roof. The dealer fixed it in house and sold it as a new car, I can tell you it was far from "new" when they sold it.

First (only) new car I ever bought was a '88 Trans Am. Black, awesome looking. Went to trade it when I got married (car wasn't even two years old) and a dealer told me he couldn't give me a very good price because of the repaint. I told him I bought it new and it had never been touched. He just shrugged. Talked to a body man I knew and he looked at the car and laughed. He'd done the body work and paint on it when it was dropped off the delivery truck ramp at the dealership...

Amen to that. Your work runs circles around the new car work.

Definitely the dealership “fixed” that door. Probably damaged from transport and they fixed it before selling it.

Had a co-worker who bought a brand new Mustang Gt from the Ford dealership and it was the same situation. Like 8 miles on the tac when he bought it, he got it home and noticed some weird areas in the surface of the roof and took it to a shop to have them check it out. They took the roof interior panel off and the roof was littered with hail damage that had been repaired. Turned out the whole car had been covered and repaired with no accident report and the dealership had no idea.. Apparently.. 8miles and it was pinged all over by hail, half ass repaired and sold as a brand new car... He had to have the car completely repaired properly out of his pocket and after it all, he turned around and sold it. Vowing to never buy a mustang nor a Ford again... It was sad because he always loved mustangs and wanted one his whole life, finally got one and was completely screwed over by the Ford dealership and factory...

Between assembly line damage, shipping damage, and damage done on the dealership lot, approximately 30% of new cars have some sort of repairs. I believe the standard is if the damage estimate is over $1500 it must be disclosed to the consumer. Most typically bumper covers have been re-sprayed. Ever notice how a bumper cover on your new car is half a shade off? Now you know.

I worked at a Pontiac dealership in Granville, NY many moons ago and watched the kid plowing snow open the entire right side of a new Bonneville up like a huge can opener. We repaired it and they DID end up selling it as a new vehicle. Good Ole honest Joe Ross. Dealership closed and he's passed so I figured it was safe to mention how stealerships are so honest. 🙄

So true. A friend bought a pre-owned car from a new car dealer. The car had been totaled by the person who traded it in. The dealer, no doubt gave the person very little for the car and proceeded to repair it and put it on the lot, bought off the lot by my friend. Later, the friend, who couldn't get the car to stop wearing out tires unevenly, had the vehicle evaluated by a body shop and the repairs were discovered. The dealer had repaired the car and never changed the title to show it was a salvage or rebuilt car. Imagine that - a dishonest car dealer.

Get with the Better Business Bureau and sue the shit out of the dealership that sold it to you. Buddy of mine just bought a “brand new” Toyota Tacoma from Arlington Toyota in Jacksonville FL and it was giving him some issues. I took a look at it and found uneven gaps, orange peal in the paint, masking tape still stuck on the underside of the door, and knocking around, I found it was full of bondo. After some research online, we found where the truck was wrecked, not reported, and rolled across the auction block. Arlington Toyota scammed my buddy and was not going give a refund. After the BBB got ahold of them, they started singing to a different tune. And after all that, the district attorney ended up going after them and several others for fraud.
