In the greatest UNO reverse card of all time, the IRS is getting audited.

The department is getting a taste of it’s own medicine thanks to the U.S Treasury Inspector General for Tax Information.

The investigation is looking into the cozy relationship between tax agents and major financial firms, with many instances of people jumping back and forth between the two opposing factions multiple times over their careers.

Talking about the time you audited a KPMG client doesn’t go over too well in a job interview at KPMG.

The tipoff was that each agency incentivizes whistleblowers with a cut of the money recovered by the government as a result of tips.

Both have paid out roughly a billion dollars each but the IRS bounty system has been operating for an additional three years, raising some questions of whether their agents are looking the other way on certain issues.

Not surprising. You’re much more likely as a middle class earner to get audited than a multibillion dollar company. Auditing a big company basically just ends your career.

this is less about the IRS getting audited and more about the negative consequences of whistleblower reward systems. hard to imagine it won't happen again

The irs needs to audit large corporations and close the loopholes allowing a corporation to stall audits through litigation to the point that the irs spends more money than WE'RE owed.

Wait a minute... you mean people in government might not be honest individuals when we trust them blindly? This is news to me!

I got hurt and took money out of my 401k. I thought I signed the paper to take out the taxes but since it was my first time ever doing anything like this. Instead of going on welfare I borrowed my own money. Fast forward 7-8 years adding on that many years of penalties and the IRS takes out every single cent I owned…over $2000….as I babysat for my job I didn’t make a whole lot. Do you think they cared if i could pay my rent? Get food and as all of you know…..much much more. Anyone have any tips for me on how to get any of it back? EFF the IRS. JERKS

Another Reverse Uno card that needs to happen: Road Vehicle-Worthiness Tests where vehicles registered to failed roads take a break on licence and related fees.
