How well studied is the Romani language? I have heard that they are quite secretive with it to protect their community. That might be false but if it is true, I imagine not too many linguists would have been allowed to study and document this language. This would probably make for a pretty interesting video if you wouldn't mind giving some backstory 🙂 thanks for what you d

Romani and Romanian are two entirely different things. Roma (as in Romani) people migrated all over Europe, where they are mostly called some variation of archaic words for Egyptian e.g Gitano, Gypsy, etc. Their endonym likely comes from words related to either Sanskrit lom (hairy), or Sanskrit Doma (the lower class of wandering musicians). Romania on the other hand gets its name from Rome.

Something tells me I'm going to like your channel. One subscriber earned. The Eskimo/Inuits are the only ones that actually magellaned their way all the way around where they bumped into some Norse folk. They have absolutely found Austronesian DNA in Amazonian tribes, id love to see how the language compares

Even within the Austronesian family, we have our own little hikers.
You mentioned Malagasy here which is more closely related to south Bornean languages than any other language, but what people might not know about is Acehnese. It is spoken in Aceh, but most closely related to the Chamic languages in Vietnam! Furthermore, the Taman and Memaloh languages are spoken very far in-land near the Malaysia and Indonesia border in Borneo, but it's actually more closely related to the South Sulawesi languages in the Sulawesi Island.
