I love his explanation of D-Day everyone knows that we kicked butt on that day and longer listening to World War II vets way back in the day at the VFW or American Legion those WW2 Vets had their own storys, at the conclusion they would always say United States got their and kick their ass

I will always feel indebted for the movie Saving Private Ryan. Don't know any other way I would have learned about the horror of D-Day. My dad was WWII Navy, but was stationed in the Pacific.

The second mission never would have been possible if it had not been for D-Day

The Air Force and it’s three strategic missions on D-Day were all considered failures across the board. Out of the three, the only one that had some semblance of success was destroying railroads and logistics routes leading into the battle space. Everything else was basically a wash.
