➡️ There are literally thousands of common every day products that contain synthetic fragrances. They are usually labeled on the ingredients list as either “fragrance” or “parfum”. These aren’t recommended for anyone to use, but especially babies and young children as they have new, rapidly developing bodies.🚶‍♂️

Here’s why:
☠️ When products are labeled with “fragrance” they may contain up to hundreds of different synthetic chemicals. Legally, manufacturers are not required to tell you specifically which ones they used.
☠️ When you smell one of these chemicals, they absorbed into your lungs and blood stream within a few minutes.
☠️ Even more surprisingly, chemical fragrances are absorbed into the skin when used in body products like shampoo, diaper cream, and baby lotion.

Some of the studied harmful effects of these chemicals are:
❌ disrupted hormone function in the body
❌ infant illness
❌ asthma (asthmatic children are especially high risk)
❌ headaches
❌ behavioral problems in children
❌ allergic skin reactions
❌ they even accumulate in mother’s breast milk

💡So what’s the alternative?
🌟 Always look for “fragrance-free” when buying baby products. “Unscented” is not good enough as it may contain fragrance chemicals to cover another scent.
🌟 Also avoid room deodorizers, scented candles and anything that a child would breathe in as these products can contain the same harmful chemicals.
