This is a somewhat confused and misleading explanation. The "information" he is talking about should not be interpreted as the paper and what is written on it. In physics, "information" refers to the structure of particles at the quantum level. Even if these could be re-constructed, it would NOT be possible to determine what the original item they came from was according to our current scientific understanding.
