Hi my only objection is that it costs more money to buy the upgrades individually than to buy both at the same time. My view is that this is penalising people who cannot afford to buy both upgrades at once.

All the bargain hunters who miscalculated because they thought "it's just software, an upgrade can't be that expensive" are now complaining. If you had released three devices with the same hardware but different functionality, player, player pro and player ultra, no one would complain. That's what the competitors do, or they bring out a new device every two years with improved hardware and just polished software, and that's also accepted.
