I realize that you are doing that for a tub and shower insert, but it is nice to know that something like that could be done around water pipes for sinks as well. So many leave openings (some rather large openings) around pipes under bathroom and kitchen sinks that are unnecessary. These openings are spots for bug, mice, rats, and snakes to enter a home. Many people don't take the time to look for this problem when looking for a new home. This can also be a problem in the laundry room by the washer and the water heater.

i have the same type of seals that are made by Schluter. Is there any reason why I shouldn't install them the same way over GoBoard with GoBoard sealant?

Hey boss do I have to sand my mudding ( thinset ) before hanging tile? Will a small small hump mess me up, trying to install 12 x 24 tile in shower? Got cement board up, doesn't go all the way to ceiling got about 6 ft and have 2 ft of mold resistant drywall, that's what originally was there. Just added in the cement board, took out shower panels, wasn't no board behind them
