Perfectly serviceable, as are the H5 and M1S. More of that Shanling sound signature than either, in order, but still far from the richness and fullness of the warm sound of the original Shanling M1 that Hiby worked on. Like 7 years later, the M1 still has the better presentation though the clarity is clearly less than modern options. Returning all 3 and trying out the UA5 and Cayin RU6 next. At worst, the M1 can have a 5000 mah flat battery bank stuck to it to make up for battery age.

Seems perfect for listening to music while exercising and traveling <10 hours (or more if there's an outlet available which there usually is in my experience). The price is good too. Gonna snag one before they're gone, thanks for the review

In addition to the new R6 and R3, Hiby has recently released a new version of their R2 DAP. Looks like this Shanling might even be smaller than that.
