This cracked me up because it is so specific to foragers. "If you're on a date and you have bad breath from eating wild onion... look for mountain mint"

Thank you for the pronunciation! I was trying to verbalize and memorize the genus and I always need to hear it

I love mint and the plants that are related to it. The only species I’ve actually tasted though is wild mint (Mentha canadensis)

I’ve been collecting a list of Florida natives to collect and monitor since there’s a lot of development in my area, so if I ever get a chance to message you somehow I could give you some good content in terms of Florida foraging. A lot cool palm berries, some wild yams spots, and so on a lot of which in the next 20 years will for sure be gone so hopefully one day you’ll be around to help me nerd out! I’m still breaking the ice of not feeling anxious about it 😅 thank you for the passionate work you do!

Mints in Malay is "pudina" (like many other Indo Aryan languages
The candy "mints" are not, but the "minty" sensation or flavour still uses the pudina adjective

hairy mountain mint (slender doesn’t work for this) also works for pest and animal prevention applications in garden/landscape settings. gives off the same general aroma. I sprayed a mountain mint mixture on and around my squash plant to keep squirrels from eating the blossoms this yr

I'm just imagining going on a date where you're foraging and I think that's the best date idea I've ever heard

I love it. I’m currently trying to transplant some to my property. The bees love it.

Mint is really good raw with steak and other grilled meats! It cuts through the richness really nicely

When I was a kid, we had peppermint growing all along one side of our backyard. You can definitely eat it!
