my head cannon for the shelling no longer eating sharpness is,the gun lances we had up until wilds weren't perfect as such they couldn't handle the explosions of the shellings perfectly,while the new guy lances in wilds are a more perfect version and now have no issue with the shelling

I've always played Gunlance. First in MHFU, then I skipped all games until world. I thought I sucked ass at the game until I tried the Beta and everything.. clicked. My instinct has always been to block shit, but I just used to cart. I don't have to sharpen my weapon every 30 seconds and I can even move around. It felt as if a god resided in that weapon now. Just having guard points feels so cool!
I have just a single life long wish left for the gunlance, I want to be able to shield friends. I want to be able to take the hits and shield them from breath attacks or even hits.
