Music by Ludwig Ronquist – Thema: "Personas"
   • Personas

The footage is from the high ridge (Hohnekamm) in noth Germany. It was minus 12 degrees. We fought with warhammer and poleaxe. For savety reasons we use rubber heads on both weapons. The next hospital was a 5 hour walk and 30 minutes of driving away. My armor is made of titanium and hardened steel corresponds to models from 1485, my friend Niklas uses armour and armament from the 16th century and a gothic sallet.
At the end of the fight I nearly died there. The helmet was filled with snow and I couldn't breath or cry. My friend Niklas noticed that I fought different at the end and let me go. With the last of my strength I managed to take off my helmet and breath again!

Niklas instagram is amazing, risk a look!

I like the image of these two sharing sandwiches and a thermos in the snow after they finish trying to murder one another.

I think the thing i love about this, as well as showing the messiness of armoured combat, is the effectiveness of armour. Just these devistating blows that would instantly kill an unarmoured opponent just bounce off. Incredible stuff

The fact that there's no screaming, grunting , swearing or talk make them feel so dead like some dark souls

I wanna see a dark medieval fantasy movie/show with realistic combat like this. It’s so brutal and visceral, and so much more interesting than the flashy Hollywood fight scenes.

That dent in the helmet after the first strike from the war hammer; Nothing like a skull fracture at the beginning of a fight to decide the outcome so quickly.

I was actually confident the hammer/buckler was going to get donked. A combination like that never crossed my mind, how fascinating!

Your channel has absolutely the best armored fighting I have ever seen in my life

You fight how I think knights fought. It's visceral. It's real. It's inspiring.

In particular I enjoy how you use the weapons. How you use every part of the weapon, use it for leverage, use it to disorient, you use it to disarm, use it to change your opponents balance.

Hollywood has given us a sad representation, I don't want to watch Hollywood anymore, the next time I see any medieval fighting, I expect it to be you and yours showing us how it's done!

I have already watched about 20 of your videos, and I have shared your channel with my German long sword group. So glad I found you!!

Guy with the shield has boss moves. Love it. Total dominance

What I like most about these films is the lack of dramatized yelling and grunting. The silence makes this feel 100 times more dramatic than Hollywood.

I love this so much!

Yet still what’s going through my head is just “BONK, BONK, BONK, BONK”

I love hearing those heavy impacts on the armor. It’s tough to track hits in fencing and regular sword play but on that armor you can just feel it

Watching these gives you a idea on how brutal medieval combat was

I've never seen warhammer and buckler used together before. Quite effective
