2 young men from the LDS came to my door a few weeks ago, spoke with them for over an hour. Had very good philosophical and theological conversation. They were not prepared for what I knew and the questions I asked them. I invited them back the following Saturday morning , they never returned.

A little over a year ago, almost to the day, God gave me the generous grace to bring two Mormon elders to the Holy Mass. they havenât spoken to me since then, but we did exchange the occasional wave when we walked past one another.

Thereâs a reason Christ teaches us to be humble, to ask, knock and seek truth. Itâs revealed unto babes because as we get older we become less able to rely ob faith and lean more to our understanding and our wisdom, not His.

I mean, according to LDS theology God the Father is only the creator god of a particular universe, that because he became a god at a point on time just like they believe humans beings can be saved and become gods. Therefore I think they do not hold to an absolute timeless and causeless idea of God
Even if you dont agree with it you have to admit is one fascinating theology

LDS do not believe that God (The God of Abraham, Issac, and Joseph), The First Person of the Holy Trinity is without a cause. They believe He was caused by a previous god, and when they die, they will become gods of their own planet.

I went to a LDS church and the people are pretty cool and nice. We disagree for sure, I know they are wrong, but I'd rather spend time with them than with an secular person.

His body is a resurrected body in a state not quite of this world. He was created as we were and we can, in another realm after resurrection become like Him. Jesus is his literal son and he taught these very same truths if you really read what he taught in the Bible.

So thankful for the young men and women who sacrifice to serve God's children on earth. Hope Brian gets a chance to search the word of God to understand who He is. You've got this Brian!

There are answers to this within LDS doctrine.
By the way, there are countless examples in scripture that indicate God looks like us and has a body. Itâs literally everywhere. The God of the Bible is not the God of the creeds.

Still think you might enjoy talking to Jacob Hansen (who I also noticed recently talked on Pints with Aquinas, so you may have seen him by now, who knows) or Jared Halverson. Jared is fantastic. Peaceable. Conversational. Kind hearted. Sincere. Very knowledgeable. And thoroughly enjoys connecting with people of other faiths. He's done it for years and is good friends with many Catholics. Just think you might have a chance to understand the complexities of my faith a little better if you sat down and talked to them. They're both fantastic individuals, and I think you'd walk out friends to be honest! :) I'm just inviting you to reach out to them. I think it could be really cool! To at the very least reach a bit more understanding of each others perspectives!
