Kurzweil or Yamaha for me, but having listened a lot to Matt Johnson's channel where he plays the Montage regularly, if I was dropping money, the Montage would be where it landed.

given a lot can be done eq wise to help a piano cut through - I'd rather hear how each sounds with just a chord played and held down a long time - say 30-60 seconds - to hear how notes fade out or are looped to stretch in some cases etc... that often separates the "grown ups" from the boyz

When are you doing a dive into the Casio CT S500?

They all sound great, but each could use some EQ to even out the sound.
I’d rate them as follows.
#1 Korg - very rich sounding
#2 Kurzweil - very natural sounding
#3 Yamaha - very bright sounding
#4 Roland - very sharp sounding
Korg and Yamaha have good decay and squashed dynamics
Kurzweil has a natural sounding decay and natural dynamics
Roland sounds expanded dynamics because sharp attack

I have these four workstations.. Kurz is miles ahead...
Yam is much brighter and takes second place... You might think it cuts better thru the mix but I had better results with the Kurzweil.
Nautilus takes third place, lacks a bit of weight in the bass range.
Fantom sounds thicker, a bit too much, which makes it the less "natural" of the four...

Always Yamaha for me... Thats why i bought a ModX8... tried Korg & Roland, but they just dont make it like Yamaha do
