Yep- kills the bearing protection and some manufacturers will not guarantee an engine or lets say void a warranty if a flush has been used prior to crank seizure / engine failure - if you have a dirty engine use a cheap oil run for 500 miles then change it

I'm not a mechanic but I agree, it displaces many particles that are in the engine which works until you flush it out,
And metal starts grinding and wearing out quicker

So very well said.

No need for an engine flush if the oil and filter are changed when they're supposed to be changed. Oil already has detergent to keep your engine clean.

The funny thing is main brand dealers service advisors up sell flushes and after treatments when you take your car for service

I never use an “engine flush” I was taught to use a cap full or two of ATF and let it run on an idle for 10-15 mins, while it’s still warm not hot or cold then drain your oil and replace. The next oil change i do a little sooner to get the bits you cannot possibly get out without removing the motor and oil pan and all the galleys and what not and try to flush it out with your choice of oil.

Engine flush from the first oil change is ok. Use it on something showing 100,000 miles with a “questionable” service history and the loosened clag will kill the engine.
Even better, change the oil every 10,000 miles or fit an ultra fine bypass filter.

They are referring to the car owners money 😢😢

If the flush does any harm at all then you need to get the good flush. That helps not harms. The comics who think flush harms engines should talk to a mechanic.

Pour some LM or Valvoline or whatever engine flush in some bottle or bowl and let it evaporate. You will be surprised how much lubricant is in there. I've been using flushes in all sorts of engines that tire oils fast (turbo engines, diesels). Everytime I've had good results. If you use engine flush and it kills the engine while ticking over for 10 minutes, then engine is a utter POS.
PS
Yeah, yeah I know it's a joke but I had to elaborate like a smartass KEKW.

I've got an old toyota that I use an engine flush on every year when I change the oil. Its a 15 year old engine and runs sweet. I never knew engine flushes were bad?

You can correctly flush an engine but if its tht bad to need one then thts pointless 😮
