Ive found that calm mind works better than nasty plot because hydro pump still does a lot of damage. And once you have maxed out sp.atk and def you cant stack any more buffs. But with calm mind you can stack more

If you do nothing and wait until he resets your buffs, the npc defense cheer doesn’t get dispelled and helps slowbro withstand hydro pumps better.
