That color is magical. It just changes from orange to red a couple times, in the blink of an eye. 😅

Both versions of the wheels are similar but in my opinion the newer version looks just a little better… but if you don’t have the vehicles side by side with each version you want even think about it. They are TRD wheels that will both run tires to take you places. Toyota OEM wheels probably are made with better specs than most after market ones. Could be wrong but most after market wheels are made in china.

I personally like the previous TRD Wheels best comparing them to the latest TRD PRO Wheels that aren’t available now. The latest TRD PRO Wheels were changed just ever so slightly with indentions around the wheels to give it a different look, but IMO, didn’t do anything to improve the appearance. Also, the previous TRD Wheels are hard enough to clean as it is w/o the little debits all around it to add to the time it takes to clean them. My dealer has a TRD PRO available (Magnetic Gray Metallic) and yes, it has the previous generation TRD Wheels. My TRD OFF-ROAD Premium just came in (7/19/23) with the XP-Predator Package and it has these TRD Wheels. I love the way they look.

I like the newer ones more. Not a huge deal though. I will say the new ones appear slightly easier to detail, which is even more important for me than the look.

I just took delivery of my Solar Octane yesterday and was bummed that it too came with the old wheels. The new Flow Form wheels are spec'd out on the build sheets but a lot of the pictures show the classic style. I think there should have at least been a discount in price or an option to swap them when the supply issues are sorty. I mean it's a $60k rig.

My salesman said my TRD Pro hasn’t shipped because it didn’t have center caps. It’s been at port since the middle of May and was supposed to be delivered at the end of June.

You can also get these on the TRD off-road premiums if you add the TRD wheel package. my wife has them on her 2022TRD off-road premium 4Runner. Has it as a package on the sticker from toyota.

Pro tip that I discovered for reviving TRD pro rims
I bought CERAKOTE trim restorer for my black trim
But was thinking 🤔.... wonder if this would work on my rims , living in hot 🔥 Arizona over years of exposure to the sun and elements, had faded my once black TRD rims.... almost a flat blackish grey.
So I decided to do my rims.... they where restored to a the dark black satin finish... And added bonus they repel water and dirt ... Way easier to clean

From a customer standpoint I like the old style because everyone knows it’s a TRD no matter the color, from a dealership standpoint there is a recall with the rims that’s why Toyota is resorting to the old ones along with the supply shortage.

Build your own 4runner. I had a 19 pro and it had nothing but consistent Fox shock failures and those old TRD pro rims are often misbalanced and end up shaking. I had two replaced before I traded it in . I have the new TRD pro/40th anniversary wheels and so far they seem better built.
