Adani Group has been actively involved in various infrastructure projects ever since the lockdown. Firstly, they acquired six Indian airports for ₹2440 crores. Subsequently, they purchased Andhra Pradesh's Krishnapatnam Port for ₹16,475 crores. Moreover, they have also closed a deal for the Ganga Expressway for over ₹17,000 crores.

However, in all these cases, the government has retained ownership of these assets, allowing the Adani Group to use them for a limited period. This is referred to in financial terms as leasing one's assets.

It's worth noting that as per the 2011 census, only 6% of Indian land is under lease, but this figure is expected to increase to 12-15% by the next census.

But how can you or I lease government assets? For this purpose, both national and state governments have websites dedicated to this process. One such website is eprocure.gov.in, where you can not only participate in government tenders but also bid for leasing government assets.

To get started, you need to create an account and register as a bidder. Then, you can read the terms and conditions for leasing these assets and place your bid. If your bid is successful, you can further negotiate the terms.

Leasing assets rather than outright ownership can be a more cost-effective strategy for businesses, especially in large-scale projects.

Government ownership of these assets while allowing Adani Group's usage demonstrates a strategic partnership between the public and private sectors.

It's crucial for potential bidders to thoroughly understand the terms and conditions of asset leasing to make informed decisions.
