There are currently just 11 wild Muskox in Sweden, all of which live in one herd in Härjedalen. There are many threats to their continued existence, including inbreeding due to a low founding population, but it’s difficult to help as Sweden’s EPA doesn’t currently consider them a native species. Since they were presumably ubiquitous from Scandinavia all the way to Greenland during the last ice age, why would the greenland herds not be considered the same species as the scandinavian? Has it just been far too long?

I was having a problem with this at first, because I thought Oxen was just cattle trained to the yoke...but these are "Musk"oxen, slightly different than cattle.

Effective they are a captive herd, and in that sense similar to a domestic cattle herd. They need to be managed accordingly
