Good comments Richard, it's said the best time to plant an apple tree is 40 years ago, the next best time is today. Goes the same with CW, do it today. Just get started! Learning the code isn't hard, getting up to speed takes practice, but it's worth doing. 73 KB3JC

Yes, IMO you are right :) In my experience, it helped me a lot, not to practice the learning during some spare free time after the daily work is done, instead I integrated it to my daily normal life. For example, while waiting at a red traffic light, I look around and every word, i see, for example an shop advertising from (example) Tesco, i say to myself: dah, dit, di-di-dit, dah-di-dah-dit, dah-dah-dah. Or license plate numbers from other cars, and so on. Or i simulate some CQ QSO, for example, some cq calls, some imaginary call signs, "sending" my name, QTH, weather-report, and so on. That helps (me) a lot to get used to the sound, the melody, and THAT is the key of learning CW ;) So CW become second nature easily. vy73 from Hamburg/Germany, Dietmar, DL4HAO

If I knew what CW was I might learn it. Ah, the beauty of the algorithm.

I am on my 3rd attempt of learning but really want to perserverve this time. The Long Island CW club has multiple zoom sessions every week that I believe suit both US and UK (EU) time zones
