Here's what you should do!
At some point in time, we all started something new and had no idea what we were doing. Here are some tips!
Define Goals - What are you looking to do with your homestead? Are you looking for self-sufficiency? What about growing your own organic vegetables. Looking to live off- grid? Or is it a mix of those? Whatever you are looking to do, define them!
Start Small - No one started out day 1 living a full-on self-sufficient lifestyle. Begin with a few tasks like gardening, learning how to sourdough, learning about canning, or simply switch out harsh ingredients and replace them with clean organic, non-chemical ingredients (start with the oils... Ask me if you have questions!).
Learn/Research - Once again, no one knows everything there is to know. We all have our own pace as well! Read books, watch videos, take courses, seek advice from other homesteaders, etc.
Plan Your Homestead - Everyone has a different layout of their yards and homes so what works for some may not work for others. Research what makes the most sense with the space you have inside and outside.
Budget - This takes us back to starting small. Homesteading requires an initial investment so budget wisely and start small.
Patience - Don't feel disheartened by any setbacks. You are just learning. There will be mistakes and challenges! We are here for you!
Know that you got this and we are pulling for you! Have patience and most definitely message us if you have questions or maybe advice for us! We are always open to learning alongside you!
