What is an RCCB? ‘Residual Current Circuit Breaker’ or ‘RCCB’ is a current sensing based protection device which offers protection against earth leakage. RCCB works on ‘Kirchhoff’s Current Law’ which states that ‘The amount of current entering the circuit must be equal to the amount of current leaving the circuit’ i.e. the sum of the total (incoming + outgoing) current should be 0. To ensure this, inside RCCB there is a CBCT (Core Balance Current Transformer) which senses the magnitude of current entering the circuit & leaving the circuit. Whenever a current leakage is sensed, the relay associated with CBCT gets energized and trips the RCCB.



आरसीसीबी क्या है? 'अवशिष्ट करंट सर्किट ब्रेकर' या 'आरसीसीबी' एक करंट सेंसिंग आधारित सुरक्षा उपकरण है जो पृथ्वी रिसाव के खिलाफ सुरक्षा प्रदान करता है। आरसीसीबी 'किरचॉफ के करंट लॉ' पर काम करता है जिसमें कहा गया है कि 'सर्किट में प्रवेश करने वाली करंट की मात्रा सर्किट से निकलने वाली करंट की मात्रा के बराबर होनी चाहिए' यानी कुल (इनकमिंग + आउटगोइंग) करंट का योग 0 होना चाहिए। यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आरसीसीबी के अंदर एक सीबीसीटी (कोर बैलेंस करंट ट्रांसफार्मर) होता है जो सर्किट में प्रवेश करने और सर्किट छोड़ने वाले करंट की तीव्रता को महसूस करता है। जब भी कोई करंट लीकेज महसूस होता है, तो सीबीसीटी से जुड़ा रिले सक्रिय हो जाता है और आरसीसीबी को ट्रिप कर देता है।
