This is not new technology, my 14k tilt has demco hitch. Yes it has spot for a traditional pin. Yes I still use a pin, even though I was told I don’t have to w/ this coupler. I have used both style couplers and have no preference. That being said I haven’t hooked up my trailer w/ the latch closed/locked as in the second demonstration. I also live in the midwest. I have not been concerned or had a problem w/ breakage.

I don’t think these are new. I’ve had one for a while.
And they are awesome I bought a tilt deck, trailer and haul all sorts of stuff, including a telehandler excavator skid steer and it’s been the greatest hitch I’ve had on any of my trailers.
Honestly, I wish I had something similar in my goosenecks because I hate getting in the bed

I'll defend these hitches. Easy open, easy lock, there's a pin hole to lock it closed. Rated for 21k on a 1 5/16 ball. If the latch breaks you can get a rebuild kit for the latch.
