I completely agree, Cori! A few years ago, my schedule/routine was to workout after work, then I'd eat a large meal, usually consisting of a protein and a large serving of some kind of fibrous carb. I'd be stuffed right before bed. But would wake up "starving"! I still recomped my body doing that for several months.

Eating before bed will increase my chances of acid reflux, though. :)

I’ve lost 110lb last year, and I ate everyday b4 going to bed. Nothing worse than going to bed hungry

I think I can affect your hormone levels , because of your natural circadian rhythms. And thereby also affect your sleep quality, because your body goes through different processes while digesting. Not saying if you work nights or just have long day, don't eat, but just as a rule, not the best habit.

It could decrease your sleep quality and recovery because your body is working to digest the food you ate. That is true for me - I have HR data to support it.

I mean some say it is best to have a protein shake before bed. They even make specific shakes to take before bed. I just wouldn't eat McDonalds before bed.

I eat before bed. Banana or something like a slice of whole grain toast or milky decaff coffee. Can’t sleep without!

πŸ‘‰πŸΎI actually was very slim. However, put on belly fat especially by sleeping immediately after eating😞

Well your body is supposed to put its energy into rest for sleep. Instead of still digesting recently eaten food right before sleeping

This is good to know. I'm a shift worker, my workout, eating and sleep times always change.
