Craziness… I got an OVI in Ohio in 2017, and I was thoroughly punished for it here in the US, paid over $6,000 in total… but in order to go to Canada, I have to be punished all over again. It’s over $2,400 at this point to get clearance to go into Canada for me… and id love to visit! 2 years ago, they told me $1,900. Either way, I got into Europe, no problem, that’s not an issue, I paid my dues here. Those are some harsh laws up north, by any standard

What about deemed rehabilitation for offenses before 2018? I have one from 2012 and have certified court paperwork showing the successful completion of all probation, fines, etc. along with recent FBI and state background checks.

I got a DUI in 2017. I am working with a Canadian immigration law firm to get me into Canada but the government bureaucracy will take several months for me to get the visa.
