step 1:
Create abstract line using pen tool, don’t worry the shape isn’t important right now because you will be able to change it after the line is made, as well as colors.
Step 2:
Make star shape using shape tool, different shapes will give different design results. I used a star with 25 pts.
Step 3:
Create color palette and add colors to linear gradient slider. Use eyedropper tool to grab colors.
Step 4:
Duplicate star and make smaller, then select both shapes, go to select -blend -make. Then go back to select -blend - blend options -specified distance -1 pixel. Lastly, select -blend -replace spine.
That’s it! That’s all it take to become a pro in creating custom lines using the shape tool in Adobe Illustrator.
