The Milgauss has to be seen to be believed. That crystal alone would make it a standout, but that splash of excitement via the seconds hand and history take it to another level. Not a massive Rolex fan (I get why the brand is beloved by many, but just enjoy watches beyond the beaten path more), put the Milgaus is defintely one of the greats.
Firmly believe that because a lot of its qualities are hard to communicate over a screen or paper (it has to be seen in person to fully comprehend), it isn't getting the attention it deserves. After all, few people have access to an AD and not every AD even carried the Milgaus, so people would rather pine after a Submariner which is easier to "get" solely via pictures.

Milgauss Z-Blue dial is a watch you either love for its quirky fun design with the green sapphire glass, orange lightning bolt second hand, and sunburst blue dial…..OR you find it’s too much !
Personally, I love its quirkiness and it’s probably my favourite watch I own.
What’s your view ?
Also please check out my full video on the Milgauss on this channel, including it’s heritage and other models Rolex has released over time.
I’m expecting the Milgauss to return in 2026 to celebrate its 70th year anniversary….with a new design and updated movement maybe with more significant anti-magnetic resistance given its original purpose? What would you like to see in the future?
