The halo 3 marines are my favorite, especially the ones with the metallic green color.

Seeing the evolution of marine armors reminds me of that canceled game "Halo Chronicles." It basically was going to be similar to a metroidvania where you play as a marine who is trapped in a Forerunner installation and have to collect upgrades for your armor in order to escape. You were basically going to start as a standard marine and finish as a super soldier.
The only game that ever came out that reminded me of this concept was Shadow Complex.
