Shoulder subluxation occurs in up to 80% of stroke survivors.
It’s when there’s a partial dislocation of the humerus out of the glenohumeral joint, or the primary shoulder joint. This most often happens in the early stages after a stroke when the arm is flaccid or there is little to no arm movement.
Arms are heavy! And when gravity pulls on that arm it can cause or worsen shoulder subluxation.
If this is something you deal with, please make sure to check out one of my recent YouTube videos where I cover evidence-based strategies to improve shoulder subluxation after a stroke!

I got a stroke 4 years back No recovery of the left side. I regularly attended the physiotherapy centre for 2 years, there is no physio centre nearby. I'm trying daily by watching your videos. I'm 70 YO alone. Financially weak. I'm from a remote area of the hilly village of Nepal.
Thanks mam.

Hi Elyse, A young adult had a stroke 2 months ago and lost movement on left side body. He can walk a little bit now but

After stroke, the patient walks with circumduction gait — the leg swings in a circle with the knee bent, and at the same time the arm is held in a flexed position. How can this be corrected? Anything can he and his family do at home? Which of your video you recommend?
Thanks

Thank you so much for your posts. I was able to get back on my feet within a few weeks after my stroke due to your encouraging videos. How could I give up and convalesce in bed with a beautiful person like you cheering me on by YouTube video? ❤
