Thank you for doing what works for your family. I had a home with a desk near the kitchen, and it was the "catch all" spot and was always messy. I have tried to figure out how and where to put a mud space in my home. Everyone comes through, or to, the kitchen and just dumps coats and jackets and backpacks, on chairs, the floor around the table, and on top of the kitchen table. All family homes need TWO places for "dump stuff". No one has a front closet big enough for a family and no one has a closet large enough near the kitchen. Massively smart idea and execution!! Love the darker, richer color!!
