I had a slightly similar thing with my boa constrictor amarali. I offered her a rat using my 24 inch forceps: she overshot the mark enough to catch my forearm with a couple of teeth. One of my carpet pythons shot across when I opened the glass and caught a finger. Far better than showing no interest in a feed....
