important things to note, besides the difficulty in itself of being awake that long and just trying to function, you're doing the hardest physical work you've ever done in your life while soaking wet/freezing and gunfire/explosions/instructors yelling is all around you. also, every seal you've ever seen or heard of has gone through hell week.

I used to see them running across the road on silver strand outside of Coronado, SD Cali, on my way to base all the time, I was super pumped for those guys for doing what they do while simultaneously feeling terrible sitting in my car watching them cross in formation in what is likely the worst physical training experience to date, I felt a bit guilty to be honest. Props to all the people who go through this 💪

I couldn’t imagine that after 72 hours, I did that with my hyper thyroid in college to cram for exams (it really only top of adhd messes with executive functions). And I just found it I stood up and wrote on a chalk board and talked out loud I could sustain and guide my focus. My last final I actually felt my brain like short circuit, like it just couldn’t think through things very well, especially without talking out loud. After that I went to bed and I asked my room mate upon waking how long I had been out, I had litterally been out over 24 hours. That’s how long I slept. 🛌. To only get an hour omfg that’s crap. Though a funny thing happens to you in this state before sleeping, all your filters disappear, you oddly can slice through a moment to the core of it socially and just make comments on it, everything became funny and it was like almost like I was on a sort of roll with jokes and stuff on the fly. It was like an altered state of consciousness.
