I can't love this explanation more!!!! I'm tired of people not understanding me and getting angry with me over these things! I'm willing to compromise because I realize other people may have different needs and expectations in a relationship. But I can't totally change who or what I am for someone else like that. If I have to change who I am, then that person doesn't really like me. They like their preconceived notion of what they believe I'm supposed to be in their mind.

Omg thank you ❤ I have adhd, I want to get screened for autism bc the crossover and comorbidity are very high, and my oldest son has a diagnosis for both. I'm 48, so I wasn't ever looked at in that light even though my parents took me to doctors. "You need to keep her busy" is all they were told. I've been reading and writing since I was a toddler.

Key words after Diagnosis are Actionable Plan. In my 60s when I got a diagnosis. This past week I had a med appt, which always stresses me out. I was growling at my hubs, my son, my dog, and my other dog…. I was having a meltdown. Because of my diagnosis, I was able realize what was happening and take steps to mitigate the situation. (Hugs for my guys and belly rubs and treats for the pups.) Doesn’t matter what stage of life you are in: it will get easier.

We need to stop calling it a diagnosis. That is inherently biased language that doesn’t pertain to everybody. I would prefer for it to be called identified. We need to get rid of the disordered part of the name as well. I don’t need a diagnosis and I’m not disordered. I’m just hardwired to be different than the average person who I believe is in fact actually disordered on mass. We live in a bad world because of the average person not because of people like me. But when everybody has a narcissistic personality disorder, nobody has a narcissistic personality disorder. at least that’s how Neurotypicals think. The language we used to discuss these things does have actual effects on whether people seek out being identified or not.

Becoming mute because the words won't come out...I hate when I do this. I want to explain so badly but I can't get them out
