It's still problematic in many ways:
- Everything without a grid is hard to localize on the axis. How am I supposed to see if the dot I look at is at 140 or 130 million when there is a huge blank space between?
- The data was tallied up at the end of the year, so the lines connecting the dots are proper lines (not any other curves). This gives the illusion of there being visible linear growth, when things like the pandemic or other events clearly cause dips and peaks that could be relevant. At any rate, it is misleading. Here one should only add the points and maybe also use a dashed or different style connection line to allude to the fact that it's just a visualization help.
-Like someone else mentioned: Confidence intervalls? How good are these prognoses? How much could they deviate with realistic assumptions?
I don't think you have to be a data analyst to require or at least be able to use these tools when you see them, and give a more professional and informative view to your chart.
On the other hand, this was surely just an instructional video to highlight the importance of clear separation, so it probably doesn't matter much.
Edit: changed "misleading" to "problematic"

There are so many ways to mislead with visual data. Actually a very well made short, informative, well edited..
