Filipino culture is communal while western culture is about individualism. Of course, the expectation is higher for individual goal vs. communal. Communal is looking out for each other and make sure everyone is happy. More depressed people here in the western world.

I pity the rich woman who goes into her walk-in closet full of expensive designer clothes, shoes & accessories and complains: "I have nothing to wear!

We also have a higher expectation but if did not happen we entrust it to God.We let go and surrendered to God. We continue to work hard and move on. We dont rely on our strength that's why we are able to smile despite of failures in life.
