If you haven't surfed Waimea Bay, you have no idea how gnarly and basically unmakeable that was. Every wave ridden that day was off the charts. I'm so stoked for all the contestants and Water Saftey personnel. Eddie would be Stoked as well! Aloha

Don’t understand why this was the winning wave. I saw many straight drops like that.

There were several other better waves and rides from the other competitors. Smooth styling & composure should’ve been a greater component, not just charging straight and deep.

Looking at that highlights how much cleaner yet bigger Mavericks was during the same timeframe.

This is gnarly remember they don’t always win for the best ride or perfect wave, sometimes they win for riding a wave that looks impossible to ride, almost getting destroyed and somehow coming out just fine

I honestly think the contest was rigged by his dad who is the organizer. To try to further his son’s music and surfing career.
Go watch Mason Ho’s best 3 waves vs Landon’s. Mason was the clear winner. Liam should be removed from the contest
