The Chengdu Humanoid Robot Innovation Center just introduced the robot, which at 25 kg (about 55 lbs) weighs about the same as a fully packed suitcase.
The Konka-1 is designed for use in research labs, elderly care, and emergency management. Its compact design allows it to carry up to 5.5 kg (12 lbs), achieving a high load-to-weight ratio, according to its developers.
Equipped with advanced AI, Konka-1 can interpret tasks, monitor its environment, and autonomously control its limbs to complete activities. The robot’s battery life lasts up to 8 hours, surpassing the industry average of around one hour, making it capable of working extended shifts without frequent recharging.
About 60 percent of Konka-1’s components were sourced locally in Chengdu, aligning with regional production initiatives.
