Do you lay out all three trays at once or have a strategy for keeping the person behind you form encroaching on the space for your trays with theirs? I have a similar strategy to yours, but usually have to make myself wide because the person behind me will start to put their tray on the conveyor before I've finished setting up my trays.

I use a total of two trays! 1 with shoes and purse with shoes on top of purse and The other one with my carry-on bag.

Good idea. I deal with this by putting all my valuables (watch, phone, wallet) into my rucksack.
