Old men who know each other, sending men that have no quarrels with each other, to kill each other.😢

We also used to be able to buy beer at 18, but the Department of Transportation put an end to that by threatening to withhold transportation fund if states didn't raise the drinking age to 21.

The government can send you off to die at 18 but according to them you’re still too young to drink a beer 🤦🏻‍

Repeal the 26th Amendment
Raise the legal adult age to 21. No draft until your 21.
An 18yr old is not done developing.

18 to vote, 18 to fight, and yet 21 for beer... laws always make sense

So, if it was based on the Draft, then only MEN shouldve been able to vote from 18. Why did women get the same right when they didnt get drafted? No one brings up THIS inequality!

age for smoking and drinking is 21 in Michigan. people are talking about lowering the voting age. soo...
"we trust you to vote for leaders every 4 years, but you can't drink, or smoke."

Seems like only men ages 18 through 20 should be able to to vote then and not women of the same age group.

Okay this explains men but why did women not stay at 21

That was a terrible idea

It's not hypocritical. The military needs soldiers that will follow orders to their death. The hypothalamus which controls quality decision making isn't normally fully developed until 25. The last person you want in combat is someone who questions every leadership decision. You want leaders over 25 with training who have demonstrated the ability to issue quality orders.

You can send them off to war but they cant buy a beer. 18 is to young.

Can we change the age to 35?

@ygonzalez4134

One of the BIGGEST mistakes ever, not based on reason, but emotion. Voting age should be raised to 25 when a person's brain is usually fully developed.

This Amendment was a big mistake. Voting is a great responsibility, not a "right". No one has any rights that are required to be paid for by other people.

Other people pay the price for stupid people to vote.

It's not a right.
