Down the line the compatibility issues are just gonna show, and feelings will get HURT. I won't throw harsh judgement on high school kids especially because her feelings are valid too and to each their own, but even when she was speaking about him, you could feel the dismissive vibe. She's not seeing you as her endgame bro. And that's not what you deserve. So yeah, boy run.

This reminds me of my HS relationship. I hope this young man finds the peace to not settle, move on and wait for the one who reciprocates his love the way I'm glad my hs-bf moved on from me. I wasn't horrible or anything, but, like this dude, he was more into us than I ever was and I'm happy for him that he pulled the trigger and moved on. He was a great guy; still the best person I've ever met, still, all these decades later, and I hope he found true love, acceptance and happiness with someone.

I remember being with my highschool sweet heart for 9 1/2 years I can assure you that when you grow into an adult just like how your taste in music changes so will you, as sad as it may be. But there is a potential happy ending. You may end up with someone else from highschool but in adult life just as I have and have a mature relationship.

It's pretty clear she's staying because he treats her right, but she not gonna commit the way he will. He needs to let her go, and she needs to have some integrity and not give him false hope.
