Driving responsibly means giving full attention to it. Even when you are talking hands free (usually about things that can wait) your attention span suffers by a significant percentage. There are many studies verifying this. Just drive to your destination. Of course there are exceptions, like an emergency. Be safe.

Dude thank you. For work I drive a brand new 2024 ford tranzit company truck and it has all the climate control settings on the touch pad mounted in the vehicle from factory. It's a nightmare to use while in traffic and in general. Before hand I was able to change it without looking at all in the 2021 for transits we had. Don't look at your phone to send texts that's bad. But if you're sweating bullets because of their inferior climate control system (that actually has other not mentioned flaws in its design) then it's okay to take your eyes off the road for that even though you didn't have to in any vehicle 2 years ago.

You are absolutely correct! And add all the idiot things that Apple and Google have done to make it complicated to complete ba simple task on a phone. I used to be able to dial someone with only 2 - 3 touches to dial someone. These days the voice command is so inaccurate that it's more distracting than just touching the screen (this includes texting). I'm in the IT field and I have complained to Google (android) hundreds of times but nooooooo! They think they know best. Oh I forgot, big tech and gov are the same thing these days. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦

Government has never found a problem that it couldn't make infinitely worse.
