View of the machine of a freight lift in a big office building. The lift was built by Otis in the 1970s and modernised by a local company in 2019. It has a capacity of 2100 kg / 28 pers., serves 16 floors and runs at a speed of 2.4m/s. Motor is a SC400 machine with 40kW, manufactured by TKE and sold through LiftEquip. Controller is a Kollmorgen MPK411 in combination with an RST FRC-Q drive. The lift also has a Revcon energy recuperation device to regenerate electricity.
Originally, this lift was DC gearless.

I JUST saw some SC400 machines in an office machine room. The whole room was glass at the top of a 22-story building. They used to be 1980's Dover Traflomatic 2's with DC generators.

Wow! Amazing motor! That is VERY big, but older Otis models had bigger machines, but its not to say that this is not big. This is actually the first time I saw how much current they draw… 51 amps, 40kw, amazing! I don't know why I didn't expect it because it is pulling 28 people when it is full or empty, but seeing it with my own eyes is amazing.
