what people need to realize is that this type of solution is going to give the skin a burning feeling if its being applied to irritated or red areas. glycolic acid is a natural exfoliant, so using it on red and inflamed skin is not going to help it.

Same mistake I made…I had sunburn and hyperpigmentation on my face. I started using it once a day at night and in the course of 3-4wks my face got darker( like sun tan even without sun exposure) then I started researching the reason and obviously it’s the overuse. I’m discontinuing for a week so my face can have a break before I continue 2x a week, alone side my moisturizer and vitC serum.
The directive on the product is misleading but I think the product itself it great!

I just started using it! Didn't realize I already use glycolic (I got a pixi glow tonic hello kitty collab I've been using for ages) so I shouldn't have been so nervous to use it as I wasn't introducing anything new. I am noticing doing a dollop amount is tooo much for me so I use a little less and massage it in by hand in sections instead of all over so I save product and less eye burn lol. It's stronger than the Pixi product by 2% so I'll use thr ordinary when it runs out although I like Pixi's better, more manageable less fuss.. Some people may need less and some people may need more of the ordinary. I'm not sensitive but it did cause some redness when I used it 3 days in a row lol I just wanted to seeeeeee. I'd try the pixi one if anyone finds this product too fussy or you dont care to be this fussy 😂

Tbh I don’t think u should use a cotton swab bc it sucks up most of the product I think u should make sure ur hands are clean then apply only a few drops on your fingertips

I will say its absolutely Ordinary's fault, they need to have instructions that warn abt how abrasive it can be... and when to use it instead of every day. Bcs that also doesnt work for me. It depends on the person, but its an ACID, so that should be warned.
