Huajiang Gorge Bridge enters commissioning phase

Recently, the Huajiang Gorge Bridge has entered the stage of suspension cable installation, steel truss assembly and cable lifting system commissioning.

Huajiang Gorge Bridge is a controlling project of the Liuzhi to Anlong Expressway in Guizhou. The bridge is 2,890 meters long, with a main span of 1,420 meters. The span ranks first in the world among mountain bridges. The height from the bridge deck to the water surface is 625 meters. After completion, it will become the new world's tallest bridge, also known as the world's first bridge both horizontally and vertically.

The bridge is built as a "bridge-tourism integration 3.0 model". Sky restaurants, racing tracks, sightseeing corridors, B&B hotels and other extreme sports and sightseeing tourism projects will be built on the bridge and surrounding areas. The supporting Yundu service area is currently under construction of a comprehensive building and B&B hotel. The bridge is expected to start the first hoisting of the steel truss in early November. The picture shows workers busy pulling the traction rope of the hoist winch to ensure the smooth progress of high-quality construction.

The Huajiang Canyon Bridge (Chinese: 花江峡谷大桥), is a suspension bridge under construction in Guizhou province, China. The bridge crosses the Beipan River as it passes through the deep Huajiang Canyon. Upon completion, it will be the world's highest bridge, measuring 625 metres (2,051 ft) from the bridge deck to the bottom of the gorge. It will surpass the current highest bridge, the Duge Bridge, which crosses the same river 200 kilometres (120 mi) upstream. The bridge is expected to be open in June 2025.
